I’ve been a hairstylist for the past seven years, and I genuinely love what I do. Hair is the creative part of my work, but what I value most is the opportunity to care for people, build relationships, and help each person who sits in my chair feel beautiful, confident, and encouraged from the inside out.

The name Salt & Light Salon comes from Matthew 5:13–16, where Jesus tells His followers, “You are the salt of the earth” and “You are the light of the world.” Those words represent so much of what I want my life—and this salon—to reflect.

As Christians, we are called to live differently: to love others well, serve with humility, speak with grace, encourage one another, and let the way we live point people toward Christ. Colossians 3:12 calls us to “clothe” ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, while Colossians 4:6 reminds us to let our words always be gracious. Micah 6:8 calls us to do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

Those truths shape the heart behind Salt & Light Salon. I want this to be a place where people feel welcomed, valued, cared for, and comfortable being exactly who they are. Whether through a conversation, a little encouragement, a listening ear, or simply helping someone feel beautiful when they look in the mirror, my hope is to serve each client with excellence and genuine love.

Ultimately, Salt & Light is a reminder to me that even the ordinary parts of our everyday lives can be used for something greater. Whatever we do, we are called to “do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31), and my prayer is that the work of my hands, the way I treat people, and the atmosphere I create here would reflect Him.
